FAQ &
What to
Expect

Entrusting your computer to a stranger is daunting! Here are our most frequently asked questions and information on how we operate as a business, so you know what to expect before you even walk through our door.

How long will you have my computer?

This depends upon what services need to be performed, and how long our queue is. Our average time for repair once we start on your computer is 36-48 hours, not counting waiting for parts to ship. While we work on a first-come, first-served basis, we also offer appointments, placeholders in queue, and have an emergency slot on our bench. Our walk-in queue time can range from same day to a couple weeks depending on the season and how busy we are. While we're a small shop with just two employees, we receive, on average, 100 inquiries per week, completing well over one thousand jobs per year (both consumer and small businesses). We will always do our best to accommodate your needs and reduce your downtime as much as possible!

I haven't heard from you...

If you feel like we've had your computer for ages and you haven't heard from us, please don't hesitate to reach out! We will leave you a message or two, but phone numbers change, voicemail services are full or don't send notifications... Whether you call, email, or text us, or stop into the shop, we will let you where we are in the diagnostics/repair process, or if your computer is ready to go! If our hours clash with your schedule, let us know, and we can arrange for an after-hours pick up.

Do you warranty your work?

Absolutely! We have a 1 Year Parts & Service warranty on all new parts and services rendered. If your computer continues to have problems after repair, or if a repair fails, please bring it back to us. We will move mountains to make it right! Used or refurbished parts will carry a 30-day warranty unless otherwise noted.

Can I trust you?

Your computer often contains enough information to steal your identity or worse. Please thoroughly vet your computer repair shop of choice! We are honest, Christian, raised in North Idaho, and have been operating in the area for decades. We know that your data is irreplaceable. We regularly work with doctors' offices and other health care providers, lawyers, accountants, municipalities, etc. As a matter of course, we do not look through or open personal files. We strive to follow HIPAA regulations with all computer data, including in our recycling process. All hard drives destined for recycling are thoroughly wiped before leaving our building. Drives that are too failed for the wipe process are physically destroyed. If you have any questions about our practices, please don't hesitate to ask!

How do you structure your service fees?

Our flat-fee system is simple: the most expensive service provided determines the amount of the service fee, and any lesser services provided at the same time are included. We only charge by the hour for remote support, onsite work, and advanced data recovery. There is no additional fee should your repair take longer than expected—except for your patience, which we truly appreciate.

Do you offer job-shadowing?

Yes! We offer free job shadowing. While you wouldn't be able to work on any client systems due to data privacy, we can offer a variety of opportunities for learning from observation to hands-on disassembly or repair of computers destined for donation or recycling, or even helping you build your own computer. Job shadowing for a senior project looks different for every individual depending on your interests. Contact us for more information or to arrange an interview!

Do you work on...

As a computer repair shop, we work on the software and hardware of all computer systems with few exceptions. We also have some experience with phone and tablet software. And we can help with general tech support for emails, specific programs, etc. If you have a Mac, we will do what we can, which varies greatly by the age of the Mac and what it needs. We can also help with the setup and diagnostics of servers, networking equipment, and printers, all to varying degrees. If we can't work on your device or perform a specific repair, we always strive to have a solid recommendation of someone who can!
